Daybook: Week of October 3rd

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...
Beautiful fall weather! Crisp breeze, cool-ish weather. Trees swaying.

I am thinking...
About my health challenges. Wondering what God is doing, trusting that He always has a plan, a purpose....

I am thankful for...
Those dear ones who walk with me through these challenges. The support and help they have afforded me both spiritually, physically and emotionally.

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)
Looking forward to our awesome geography lessons and discussions this afternoon. We are using Ann Voskamp's geography this year, and I am amazed at how much the children are able to retain. Also excited that so many of the recommended reading is available at my public library.

From the kitchen...
Just had a delicious green smoothie. Throw fresh and frozen fruit together with some Greek yogurt, juice to get it moving and then throw in some greens. (kale, collards, cilantro, parsley, lettuces, etc.) Sounds icky, but SO good and SO good FOR you! Been trying to eat healthier, trying to combat this illness.

I am wearing...
SIZE EIGHT JEANS!!! How cool is that?? Plus my super comfy sweater my sister got me at %60 off at Coldwater Creek. It was originally $99.95! Yikes! I got to bring this baby home for $39.95. (Thanks Chrissy!!) Oh, and my fuzzy shea socks from Bath & Body Works. I love socks.

I am creating...
Artwork out of the notes and illustrations I am writing/drawing all over my copy of God In The Yard. I decided to make the book uniquely mine, to keep all my thoughts and art right along with the book. As a result, I am writing all over the margins, underlining, highlighting and literally drawing (in colored pencils) on the pages, so the words cover the drawing.

I am going...
To the chiropractor this afternoon. Hoping to get some relief in my shoulder and hands.

I am reading...
My Bible. In the epistles right now. Just finished Colossians. I think it is my favorite book. Now I am reading 1 Corinthians. Also, God In The Yard (L.L. Barkat) and Scouting The Divine (Margaret Feinberg). LOVING reading The Jesus Storybook Bible to my kiddos. I think I enjoy it even more than they do.

I am hoping...
To sleep all the way through the night soon. The idea of falling asleep and not waking up once until morning sounds absolutely divine. I am also hoping to progress in my relationship with Jesus. He is making me more gentle, patient, a woman of prayer... I am hoping I make Him smile.

I am hearing...
My husband snore. He curled up next to me on the bed while I was writing, and fell asleep. I love this man.

Around the house...
Children are making lunch, getting cleaned up from playing outside.

One of my favorite things...
Are Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I think it is ridiculous how much I like them. I look forward to them every fall. And my sweet husband brings them home for me a couple days a week. Did I mention I love this man? Incidentally, he is one of my favorite things as well.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Plow through school with the kiddos, make some soup recipes, do some research, get some reading done, start taking a short walks in the nice weather, take the kiddos to the park a couple times, write, draw.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

  1. I hope you feel better after the chiropractor today. I too am in the midst of a physical trial (3 1/2 years). God is teaching me so much through it all.
I love the picture you shared, such a happy couple. You can see your love for each other.
