Changing

Leaves are beginning to turn those lovely shades of fall. Red, yellow, orange, brown.... And they begin to fall from the branches and spin, dancing their way gracefully down, down, down. They crunch under my feet as I walk across the ground, tangible reminders that it is nearly time to welcome in autumn, with all its glory.

As the temperature begins to cool, the air turns crisp, and I pull out my beloved sweaters and Uggs, my heart is beating gratitude for CHANGE.

Ironic though it may be, I feel the change is much more profound than a page on a calendar, or a pleasant turn in the weather.

The change is in me.

Though words escape me, I am beginning to recognize a very deep change in my own heart.

God never wastes our pain.

Never.

He makes everything beautiful in its time.

Even me.

So, kind friends, I send out a warm, heart laid-vulnerable message, most especially to all of you who know me personally and maybe even talk to me on a semi-regular basis:

I am changing.

He is changing me.

And as this metamorphosis unfolds, I offer my love, my honest struggles, and, hopefully, a life that points back to the One who is making something beautiful out of the ashes.

  3. The Sacred Echo in my heart is Nicole Nordeman singing Anyway:

Bless the days this restoration is complete
dirty, dusty, something must be underneath
So I scrape and I scuff
    though it's never quite enough
I am starting to see me finally

A gallery of paintings new and paintings old
Guess its no suprise that I;m no michaelangelo
    every layer of mine
    hides a lovely design
Itit might take a little patience
it might take a little time

    but you called me beautiful
    when you saw my shame
and you palced me on the wall
    anyway

you who have begun this work will someday see
A portrait of the holiness you meant for me
so I polish and shine till its easier to find
    even an outline of mine

    but you called me beautiful
    when you saw my shame
and you palced me on the wall
    anyway

You are beautiful to Him NOW. It's in our own eyes that we'll bless the day the restoration is complete...

celebrating your growth in Him :)

  4. My favorite thing is that he makes everything beautiful. I also love the verse where he says, "Behold I am making all things new!"
    Here's to your beautiful newness!

  7. I typically sense change in the autumn , sometimes it feels unsettling , compared to springs refresh and renew, but it is always beauty in the end.
    peace to you in this

  11. It's so of God to write and offer my first contribution to this community and then come visit you all who share the same theme. Brokenness redeemed. Growth. The seasonal analogies given by our Creator to illuminate our autumn and winter of soul. Thank you.

  13. so beautifully said...there is tremendous growth and transformation from pain...its a matter of falling lightly like the leaves and into it...and then the healing begins.
