"If a sudden jar can cause me to speak an impatient, unloving word, then I know nothing of Calvary love. For a cup brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, however suddenly jolted."
Oh Jesus, that I may be brimful of good things, of YOU, so that even a sudden jar might cause me to only spill out grace, hope, patience, love....
LOVE that, Amy. Thank you. As I prepare to head out tomorrow for the women's retreat, to minister, to serve...I will remember this when jolted by the frustrations that always accompany such things...Lord, fill me with Jesus...that only Jesus spills out when I'm jolted.
ReplyDeleteI love and miss you, sweet friend. Praying for you every day.
Amem, Amy dear.xox
ReplyDeleteamen! and THANK YOU. I will remember this and think on it for a while.
ReplyDeletewonderful words...I have never forgotten learning about Amy as a child, much inspiration to be had in her life story :)
ReplyDeletehard stuff leeches out from me under pressure too, but slowly I'm having moments where that changes, maybe not in the immediate but in the follow up I'm searching for more sweet water than bitter to flow.
ReplyDeleteBTW did I tell you last week that I like the new background? I do.
oh amy. you don't know how i needed this on a day when i've been phenomenally grumpy. i keep blaming it on the pregnancy, but i know it goes deeper. thank you for this friend. you are a gift.
